Energy balls are pretty popular right now, probably because they’re a healthier snack option than the energy bars you buy in stores, which aren’t much better than eating a candy bar–even the “healthy” ones are loaded with sugar and carbs. Therefore, I wanted a recipe that included healthy fats and proteins and that tasted good too. There’s no baking involved and they’re pretty quick to make.
However, just because energy balls are healthy, it doesn’t mean they’re low calorie, so you don’t want to pop a bunch of them in your mouth at once if you’re watching your weight.
You can have fun mixing and matching ingredients as energy balls are pretty hard to mess up.
